Training Update!

Wowwwww! I need to get on this whole blogging thing! I keep doing these stupid once per month updates and really, so much happens in a month that I forget most of the things by the end!

Regardless, I left it off at the wedding last time!
And HOLY FRICK what a grand affair it wassss! Me, Carolyn, Nikki, Mom and Bill had an AWESOME time in Vermont and the wedding itself was beautiful, as you can see from the pictures.
The Rehearsal Dinner boat cruise! SUPER nice! And great food!

Again on the boat cruise! Note Carolyn's smile versus our Dinosaur faces!

I LOVE this picture! SO good!

The Bride and Groom! Congratulationssss!

A little blurry, but you get the idea!

Les Bridesmaids!

Teehee "Love stops time" ! I should write hallmark cards or something!

The wedding dance! Awwwww!

Training was GREAT while I was in Vermont and I managed to get a TON of running in, despite the heat and the go-go-go atmosphere surrounding the wedding. Once we got to New Brunswick it was a LOT more relaxed and we spent most of our time lounging around on the beach at Mom/Bill's property in Lepreau. As you can see from the pics, it's a pretty beautiful area! For running it's not spectacular, since you have to do most of the running on the highway, BUT once you get on to the roads that lead out to points, it's STUNNING!
The beachy side of the property! AWESOME!

The point where the house will be built! Has a GREAT view!

The view from our hotel! Again, I love the east coast!

I wish I took pictures of the routes I ran! Oh well! I got in some tempo workouts, ez runs and long runs to top it off! It was a GREAT week of training and a GREAT week of time with the family! It was SO good spending this much time with Carolyn especially, since we haven't really been able to spend this much time straight together since school ended!

Since I've been back from vacation, training has been very steady and trying. It's been tough with work to get in all the hours, but basically, I've been improving leaps and bounds on the bike/run. Injury free, TONS of training and a solid plan for my training for the next month will put me in a great place for Sooke I think.

Another new development is my joining with a swim group coached by Clint Lien. He's been very welcoming and even though I've only swam 2 workouts, I really like the workouts and the people that attend them! I found out today that Kamal is training here as well! AWESOME! Mike Neill introduced me to the group, and I've been speaking with him quite a bit lately! It's going to be GREAT to swim/bike/run with him and Jasper et al. throughout the rest of the summer, while they prepare for IM world champs! I'll probably be doing 2 swims a week with them, a run and a bike!

Now for the swim news... I feel like JUNK in the water! Going from 6 weeks ago where I could swim under 1:00 from a push LC, to barely being able to break 5:00 for a 400 free is pretty brutal. All the biking/running has been AWESOME, but at the same time, my swimming has kinda gone to hell! The last time I swam was at the New Balance Half, and my first swim since then was last Thursday (July 23). My muscles have definitely liquified since then (or something equally horrible!) and I've really gotta rebuild a little of that muscle.

Anyways, the focus is still my biking and running. I've got lots to do between now and Sooke and hopefully it will be profound!

Love and kittens and their mittens!

Vermont: My Sista's wedding and Running Training Camp!!!

YEEEEEEHAW!

I leave for Vermont on Thursday morning at 8, and so begins an AMAZING weekend + week with my family out east! CONGRATULATIONS TO TARYN AND TJ! The ceremony is on Saturday as you can see by the website, and it will be SUPER fantastic!

http://tarynandtj.com/

I'm SUPER excited for the trip! We begin in Burlington Vermont and stay there until Monday, whereupon we head to the east coast of good ol' Canadia, to our property in New Brunswick! While there it will be a skimboarding and touring around extravaganza with Carolyn/Nikki/Katelyn/Bill/Mom! I'm beyond stoked!

On the training side of things, I'll be running for the 9 days I am away in Vermont/NB, making this almost a running training camp, since I've just been stepping my running back up since being sick/New Balance Half! I won't be running like this though...

Hope everyone's training and everything is going well!
