Regardless, I've been putting this blog post off for a good reason. 1) I've been very busy! 2) It's disappointing to write what's following this paragraph...
As you can probably tell, there has been very little progress on the stress fracture front. No one has been able to give me answers, and every (well it seems like every) theory has been presented to me. The fracture is in such a weird spot that even a radiologist specializing in muscleo-skeletal is unable to give me a definite answer.
Theories:
1) Growth spurt: Possible at 24, but unlikely
2) Leg length discrepancy: Not sure if it's anatomical or based on asymmetrical tightness in my lower back etc., but need to see a specialist for this
3) Parathyroid: calcium deficiency? I've been taking my Usana vitamins daily as well as 2000 iu extra of Vit. D a day... Not so sure about this one.
That's where we're at right now. A little underwhelming to be honest. I'm not entirely convinced it was caused by running though... Just that running aggravates it. I've been doing Yoga quite a bit lately (I'll leave out what type of Yoga in fear of a violent uprising against me...) and again, no pain. Even in postures such as Triangle where you're putting quite a bit of weight on one leg at a time... NOTHING.
Ok, enough about the leg! So after a Christmas holiday filled with surfing in Tofino/Sombrio, Ally and I jetted off to Florida! Here are some pictures!
Braving the cold waters of the Gulf! Not actually that cold though...
That's one big cannon (TWSS)

Happy in the sun!!!! We probably blinded people there with our whiteness...
Mangroves.. All I said when I saw them was "Wow, this reminds me of Aus"
As you can tell, the weather was pretty great, albeit not super warm (hovered around 18-20 most of the time!). When we got back from Florida, we had one day at home thanks to some lovely flight delays and an overnight in Seattle, before we headed off to Tofino to meet Zanny and her boyfriend Bayden (UBC peeps!). We were so busy the 4 days we were there we barely took any pictures, but needless to say we had an awesome time!
Get back from Tofino, Ally goes to Ontario for the weekend. Carbon footprint = 7 trillion times the size of Ally's normal. Not to mention her flights/our flights were almost always half empty. That makes me incredibly angry. It seems convenience is clearly valued more than the longevity of the planet we live on. Would you complain if they reduced the number of flights and filled the planes instead? I wouldn't.
As many of you know, Ally just left to New Zealand. While it's sad to be apart, I'm so incredibly jealous of her adventures... Which is why I'm heading there in April!!! YEAAAAAA!
Regardless, I'm keeping busy swimming, doing yoga, surfing, and now a little riding on the trainer :)
I'll post more often...
I PROMISE!
I leave you with this great mellow song from my favorite band, "Current Swell"
